have been displaced in five provinces following Thai military’s brutal aggression on Cambodia.
“Among them are pregnant women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and children,” said Socheata.
Between July 24 and 29, the displaced included 38,447 from Oddar Meanchey, 29,717 from Preah Vihear, 34,264 from Banteay Meanchey, 3,026 from Pursat, and 33,492 from Siem Reap.
Thailand’s invasion led to the closure of over 600 schools, affecting more than 150,000 students and 6,000 teachers. Houses, markets, fuel stations, health centres, and the UNESCO-listed Preah Vihear Temple have been damaged or destroyed.
Socheata warned of worsening humanitarian conditions, with families facing food shortages, clean water, and shelter.
