លោក O’Neill ដែលត្រូវបានតែងតាំងជាឯកអគ្គរដ្ឋទូតសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកប្រចាំប្រទេសថៃ បានចេញសេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍ព្រមានមួយទាក់ទងនឹងជម្លោះដែលកំពុងកើតមានរវាងប្រទេសថៃ និងកម្ពុជា។

លោក O’Neill បាននិយាយថា “ខ្ញុំគិតថារឿងដំបូងដែលខ្ញុំនឹងធ្វើគឺចង្អុលទៅប្រទេសថៃ ដែលជាសម្ព័ន្ធមិត្តសន្ធិសញ្ញាតែមួយគត់របស់យើងនៅអាស៊ី – ថាសង្រ្គាមប្រភេទនេះ ជម្លោះប្រភេទនេះមិនមានប្រយោជន៍ក្នុងការលើកកម្ពស់សុខុមាលភាពរបស់ប្រជាជនខ្លួននោះទេ” O’Neill បានបញ្ជាក់។

US Ambassador-Designate Warns Thailand: “This Conflict Is Not Helpful”

O’Neill, the nominee for United States Ambassador to Thailand, issued a cautionary statement regarding the ongoing conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.

“I think the first thing I would do is point out to Thailand — our only treaty ally in Asia — that this kind of war, this kind of conflict, is not helpful in advancing the well-being of its own people,” O’Neill stated.
