The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the public, both domestic and international media outlets, of the following:

The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting has commenced this afternoon at 18:00 hour, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this meeting both parties discussed and exchanged documents to prepare for the upcoming 2nd Special GBC meeting, which is scheduled to be held on October 23, 2025, in order to further enhance the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire, seek practical cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries, and facilitate a swift return to normalcy.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Major General Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat. The Thai delegation was led by Lieutenant General Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat.

It is also worth noting that the GBC Secretariat meeting is scheduled from October 20 to 22, 2025, under the observership of several key parties: the Heads of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) of Cambodia and Thailand, representatives of the U.S. Military Attachés Office to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, and representatives of the Malaysian side.
